Here we go again. Another stormy day here. We have just been laying around sleeping, except for when it thunders, then Gracie and Peanut jump up and start barking and wake me and Sampson up.
Mom taught me how to retrieve everybody's food bowls from the back of our kennels. Now she doesn't have to get on the floor to reach them anymore. She just lets me know when she needs me to get them, and I go inside the kennel and carry the bowls out and hand them to her. She is very proud of me for learning another task for helping her out around the house. My favorite is when we do the laundry. I hand mom the clothes to go into the washer, and later I take them out of the dryer for her to fold. I love doing the laundry, and mom really appreciates my helping her with it. I get hugs, kisses and treats when we're finished!
Mom is going to be teaching Sampson to be her mobility dog, to help her with her balance when she walks long distances. He isn't old enough yet, so right now, she is teaching him everything else he will need to know as a mobility dog. Things like "front", "side", and "around". Also "sit", "down", "under", and "stay with duration". Those are things he will need to know when he goes out in public, such as restaurants, Dr. offices, etc. He's doing pretty good, for a puppy.
